Well, it was hard to get up this morning. But I made it.
The water is over one of my roads on the bus route in 3 different places. Most of it is kind of sitting water but in one spot it is really flowing across the road. I'm just glad it isn't my road. My dirt road is in really good shape but who knows what will happen if we get the snow they are predicting. I'm just so happy the road stays in such good shape. When we moved here 33 years ago every spring you walked out to the highway. We would get excited when it got good enough to be able to get in and out with the tractor with a trailer behind. My kids would say, "Ya Ma and you walked uphill both ways to school when you were young." No, I really didn't there were school buses then also.
It was a great day for wildlife. On the Bigfork River in Wirt there were a pair of Swans, half dozen or so Canada geese. Then on one of the fields I drive by were 3 deer laying out in the field. I saw a grouse all puffed up standing in the middle of the road and finally he decided the bus was bigger and moved off to the side. Close to Dora Lake I saw a deer that must of been hit by a car as it was limping off the road.
When I got to work at Mertes Garage this morning they had been hard at work while I was gone with having the floors all done. My they look nice and Art was busy painting walls. Spring must be in the air when people are starting to paint etc.
We are getting some donations in for the Take a Kid Fishing day. We are asking for donations of money or rod/reel combo's. We are working toward a goal of giving each child that comes to the day to take home a rod/reel combo. Also, we are looking for more guides for the day. If you are interested in helping on this project give Jeanne Frey 659-4587 or myself 659-4239 a call. We appreciate all your help. This is sponsored by the Squaw Lake Fire Dept.
Hopefully, the snow will be over by Saturday so no one has the excuse that the snow kept them away for the Bullhead and Fish Fry. This fund raiser proceeds goes to the Community Center Fund. We hope to see all of you there. Any questions give Julie a call at 659-4239. Thanks.
Here's a little humor for all of you. I got this in an email so don't know the author or where it came from but I hope you enjoy it.
A little 10-year-old girl was walking home, alone, from school one day, when a big man on a black motorcycle pulls up beside her. After following along for a while, turns to her and asks,
"Hey there little girl, do you want to go for a ride?"
"NO!" says the little girl as she keeps on walking.
The motorcyclist again pulls up beside her and asks,
"Hey little girl, I will give you $10 if you hop on the back."
"NO!" says the little girl as she hurries down the street.
The motorcyclist pulls up beside the little girl again and says,
"Okay kid, my last offer! I'll give you 20 bucks "and" a big bag of candy
if you will just hop on the back of my bike and we will go for a ride.."
Finally, the little girl stops and turns towards him and Screams Out....
"LOOK DAD" "You're the one who bought the Honda instead of the Harley"!
"YOU RIDE IT!"
Happy Birthday, Judy Bertram.
Have a great day tomorrow.
Julie
