The daily squawk

The weatherman is talking like we might have a few days that will begin to look and feel like spring and then maybe a little snow coming for the weekend. I know it is only the first week of March but I am really looking toward spring. Not the spring rain but the warm weather with the sun shining and the snow getting soft and starting to disappear.

Of course I have this long list of things that need to be done in my yard before August when my grandson Adam will marry his lovely fiance Michelle. After they help me with all these projects they might think it would have been easier to elope. However, Grandma is thinking free labor so lets do this and do that. I know I can't complete all these projects myself but with their help and anyone else I can con in to help I know everything will be perfect for the wedding. My daughter Stephanie and her husband Randy are in charge of the flowers. They know that I will get busy and forget to water so the flowers should be lovely because I will keep my fingers out of them.

We still haven't heard from too many on items for the consignment auction on May 16th. Don't wait til the last moment. We'd like to get things signed up and some pictures taken so that we can make up a nice auction bill. If you've tried calling Connie and she hasn't got back to you give Julie at 659-4239 a call as Connie had an emergency in her family. Please keep her and her family in your thoughts.

Do you have anything new going on you'd like to share with us. Drop us a comment or email Julie and she will put it on.

Only 11 days til the Perch Jerkers Contest on March 14th. Come out and enjoy the fun. Prizes for the youth under 12. Great food. A fun family day for all. Then at 5pm don't forget the St. Urho's parade from Mertes Garage to The Hill. The adults will enjoy a great evening with live music at The Hill.

On March 19th from 5pm - 7pm at the Squaw Lake Community Center the St. Catherine and Centennial Lutheran Ladies will put on their Community Supper of Chili with proceeds going to Water for Life. Come out for a great meal and visiting with friends and neighbors.

March 21st at the Squaw Lake Community Center is the Firemen's Sweetheart Dance with music by The Pretenders and Friends. Great dancing and listening music. Hours are 7pm - 11pm. Come out and have a great time. Admission is $6.00 per person

March is shaping up to be a busy month. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and will be nice so that everyone has a great time at all the functions.

Don't forget if you live in a township that most of the annual meetings are held on March 10th. Check with your township clerk or supervisors to see what time your meeting is at. This is the time when you can voice your opinion on how your township should be run.

Have a great day tomorrow. I hope the sun shines and makes life a little brighter for you.

Take care,
Julie
